PwC in Iraq
PwC in Iraq is an integral part of PwC’s growing network in the Middle East region. The firm combines in-depth knowledge of the Iraqi economy, regulations, local business standards and customs with extensive coverage, breadth of resources, and quality assurance.
PwC has operated in Iraq since 2006 through our co-operating firm in Baghdad and our fully fledged PwC office at The English Villlage, Erbil, Kurdistan.
PwC Iraq is led by country senior partner Ismail Maraqa who has been working there for over eight years leading major Government transformation projects and assisting international corporations set up operations in Iraq.
Our co-operating firm F.H. Al-Salman & Company was established in Iraq in 1975 by Mr. Farquad Al-Salman, FCCA, who qualified in the UK as a chartered certified accountant. In 2002 F.H Al-Salman and Company was incorporated as the first Iraqi firm in the field of public accounting and auditing and it is now in the process of being registered as a fully fledged PwC firm.
The main activities of PwC Iraq includes providing advisory, tax, and audit services for key government entities, the UN and banks, financial institutions, oil and gas companies, industrial, agricultural, and trading shareholding and limited companies within the Iraqi private sector.
