The Middle East is a significant area of growth for KCA Deutag land operations, and within this geography Iraq is a key market.
The company started its efforts in Iraq in 2009 engaging in various discussions with clients and various local stakeholders.

The first contract was awarded in 2010. It was to deliver drilling operations working for an integrated service company in the Zubair field.
The rig selected to work on this contract was T-601 which was a newbuild unit particularly suited to work in Iraq.

Strong growth

Iraq is a strong growth area with the potential for 2 – 5 additional rigs for the company in the medium term.

Our philosophy
